Jehovah Shammah – Die God wat daar is
Inleiding:
Die duiwel val op 2 maniere aan:
- Twyfel deur leuens oor wie God is
- Twyfel en leuens oor wie jy is
m.a.w. leuens oor hoe God jou sien en hoe jy God sien
Dis krities belangrik dat ons weet wie God is want dit bepaal ook hoe ons verhouding met Hom is.
Hoe jy God sien is hoe jy God ervaar!!!
GOD openbaar wie Hy werklik is deur Sy name on die Bybel
Esegiel 48:35b
and the name of the city from that day [and ever after] shall be, ‘The Lord is There.’ ‘Jehovah Shammah’
Heel eerste bietjie agtergrond oor die skrif waarna ons vandag gaan kyk.
God se teewoordigheid met Israel was gevind in die “daar wees” van God in die Tabernakel en later die tempel. Dit was die bevestiging dat God by hulle is.
Exodus 40:34-35
The Glory of the Lord
34 Then the cloud [the Shekinah, God’s visible, dwelling presence] covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud remained on it, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
2 Chronicles 5:13-14
13 in unison when the trumpeters and singers were to make themselves heard with one voice praising and thanking the Lord, and when they raised their voices accompanied by the trumpets and cymbals and [other] instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord, saying, “For He is good, for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever,” then the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not remain standing to minister because of the cloud; for the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the house of God.
2 Chronicles 7:1-3
The Shekinah Glory
7 When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the [[a]Shekinah] glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the house. 2 The priests could not enter the house of the Lord because the glory and brilliance of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house. 3 When all the people of Israel saw how the fire came down and saw the glory and brilliance of the Lord upon the house, they bowed down on the stone pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and praised the Lord, saying, “For He is good, for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever.”
Die volk Israel raak afvallig en afgode kruip in en dit veroorsaak dat God toelaat dat hulle in ballingskap wegevoer word en die tempel vernietig word.
Die profeet Esegiel profeteer aan die einde (laaste vers) in die boek Egesiel dat God herstel gaan bring en en ’n nuwe stad gaan bou en dat daardie stad bekend gaan staan as “Jehovah Shammah” wat beteken “God is daar” God is teenwoordig.
Ons is hier om God se hart in Sy naam te ontdek.
God praat deur Liefie
Wie van julle glo dat God deur diere kan praat?
Hy het deur ’n donkie met die profeet Balaam gepraat het. Slang in die Tuinvan Eden.
God praat met my hierdie week deur ons hondjie “Liefie” foto (moet nou nie vra hoe klink liefie se stem nie, ek praat nie van so praat nie).
Ons hondjie “Liefie” het my iets gewys het in haar karakter wat my herinner het aan God se naam “Jehovah Shammah”
Liefie wil naby wees. Sy kom lê of styf teen jou of as dit enigsins moontlik is, bo-op jou.
Met respek gesê:
God se hart is ook so –
- Om naby jou te wees.
- Om by jou te wees.
- Teenwoordig te wees.
- Om verhouding te hê.
- Om fellowship te hê.
Dis hoekom ons gemaak is:
- Om verhouding met Hom te hê.
- Om Naby HOM te wees.
- Ons sien hoe God “daar is” in die tuin van Eden. Hy wandel en gesels met Adam en Eva.
- Dis hoe Hy dit gemaak het.
- Hy het ’n behoefte an naby hulle wees.
Ons sien hoe sonde skeiding bring en God se hart gebreek word.
Daar kom skeiding en die “teenwoordigheid” is stukkend wanneer hulle uit die tuin moet gaan.
- Maar God se hart is nog steeds om “daar te wees” en Hy kies die volk Israel om Sy hart vir die mensdom te wys.
- Hy sê vir hulle deur Moses om ’n Tabernakel te bou waar Hy “daar kan wees” vir hulle.
- Later kry Dawid en Salomo die opdrag om die Tempel te bou waar God se “daar wees” Sy teenwoordigheid in die Allerheilige deel is.
Dit alles wys SY hart en dui daarop en wys dat God naby en “daar” wil wees, BY HULLE.
- Kom ons spring vooruit na die Nuwe Testament:
Al hierdie dinge wys na iets nuuts,
- na God se plan om ons weer in Sy teenwoordigheid te kry. Weer naby ons te wees.
- Om te herstel wat gebreek was.
God die Vader wys weer vir ons Sy hart en wie Hy is wanneer Hy vir Jesus stuur.
Mat 1:22-23
22 All this happened in order to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the [a]prophet [Isaiah]: 23 “Behold, the [b]virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel”—which, when translated, means, “God with us.”
“Immanuel” Wat beteken Imanuel? Dit beteken “God met ons” in die vlees.
Jesus Vergelyking homself met die Tempel in beeldspraak:
Joh 2:19-20
19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Kol 1:19
19 For it pleased the Father for all the fullness [of deity—the sum total of His essence, all His perfection, powers, and attributes] to dwell [permanently] in Him (the Son),
Jesus kom na ons toe en is “God is daar” of “God is met ons”
Jesus om sterf aan die kruis, en Sy bloed was ons skoon van sonde, wat skeiding gebring het tussen ons en die Vader.
Hy kom verwyder wat tussen ons en die Vader staan.
Hy bring herstel aan die “Naby wees”
- Om by jou te wees.
- Teenwoordig te wees.
- Om verhouding te hê.
- Om fellowship te hê.
- Om met jou te tabernakel.
- Om jou te “ken” (ken is nie net ken in die Bybel nie, dit ’n intieme (relatoinal) verhouding
- Om deel te wees en naby wees
Omdat Jesus sterf en opstaan skeur die voorhangsel van die tempel en ons kan weer met vrymoedigheid (skoongewas van sonde) in God se geselskap kom en Hy “by ons wees”.
Jesus maak die pad oop na Vader se hart vir ons.
Dan gebeur dit… God kom woon in ’n nuwe “tempel” = Ons Sy kinders
Jesus vervul Esegiel 36:26-27
26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them.
Hy verander en herstel, Hy gee hart van vlees en HG kom woon in ons
Omdat ons nou in God se teenwoordigheid mag kom stuur Jesus Heilige Gees om in ons te kom woon.
John 14:16
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever
Ons word nou die tempel, waarin God woon.
1 Kor 3:16
16 [a]Do you not know and understand that you [the church] are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells [permanently] in you [collectively and individually]?
1 Kor 6:19-20
19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]?
Ef 2:19-22
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens [outsiders without rights of citizenship], but you are fellow citizens with the saints (God’s people), and are [members] of God’s household, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the [chief] Cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure is joined together, and it continues [to increase] growing into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, set apart, and sacred to the presence of the Lord]. 22 In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
*ons vandag hier is ’n tempel waar God Jehovah Shammah is… “God is hier”
Desember is vir ons ’n tyd van vreugde maar daar is baie wat Desember alleen voel?
God belowe om altyd daar te wees:
Belofte-verse om aan vas te hou: Anchor verses om te bemoedig.
Heb 13:5
5 Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
Mat 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
- As jy moedeloos en moeg voel… God is daar
- As jou huwelik in die moeilikheid is… God is daar
- As jy slegte nuus by die dokter kry… God is daar
- As jou kind slegte besluite maak… God is daar
- As jy wonder hoekom dit met jou gebeur het… God is daar
- As jy versoek word om iets verkeerd te doen… God is daar
- As jy ’n fout gemaak het en jy belei dit en het berou… God is daar
- As jy alleen voel, en dit voel of God nêrens is nie… God is daar
Daar is 3 tipes teenwoordigheid:
- Alomteenwoordigheid (Omnipresence – God is oral) vas-fixed
- Innerlike teenwoordigheid (Heilige Gees woon in jou) vas-fixed –as jy ’n kind van God is 1 Kor 3 en 6
- Experiential (self ervaar) teenwoordigheid (voorbeeld: worship, stiltetyd, tasbare openbaring van Homself) Shekinah glory?
Kom ons zoom net bietjie in op die laaste een:
Hoeveel van die laaste een het jy in die laaste week, miskien maand miskien jaar ervaar.
Ons weet nou wat God se hart en karakter is.
Hy wil naby verhouding hê. Wil jy?
- Soek jy dit?
- Jaag (pursue) jy dit na?
- Smag jy daarna?
GOD DOEN!
Wat gebeur in Sy teenwoordigheid?
Ps 16:11
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
In God se geselskap en company is daar fullness of joy!
Wat is die resultaat van Sy “daar wees” in jou lewe?
Gal 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.

Leef jy dat mense om jou kan sien en sê: Jehovah Shammah – God is daar?
God wil Sy “naam” deur jou verheerlik
Jy is Sy tempel… en Hy is Jehovah Shammah – The Lord who is there, the one who is present.
